Celebrate Clean Air Day at pop-up event

On Thursday, 20th June, residents are invited to stop by Richmond’s free Clean Air Day pop-up to find out more about air quality across the borough. The free event will give you the opportunity to trial a community e-cargo bike and meet friendly environmental educators and entertainers from The Big Wheel Theatre Company.

Clean Air Day is all about encouraging clean, sustainable and active travel methods to reach your destination. Cars and vans are the biggest source of toxic chemicals (NO2) in our air, and where possible, we should look to walk, cycle, wheel or use public transport to improve air quality not just for our own health and wellbeing, but that of the planet.

Find out the ways you can act on clean, sustainable and active travel:

If you fancy walking, use the Clean Air Route Finder, view Accessible London walking route maps, or take a walk in one of the borough’s parks and open spaces.

For those interested in cycling, book a free cycle training course, trial or hire a bike or cargo bike with one of Richmond’s bicycle and cargo bike schemes, or try cycling to work.
