New grants to capture youth voices

A new grant pot will fund up to 10 youth settings to run view-capturing sessions in spaces like youth clubs to help the Council understand more about the issues, concerns, wants and needs of young people across Kensington and Chelsea.

Youth Voice Grants of up to £4,000 will be delivered to each setting, creating a diverse and borough-wide network of young people to influence decision making at the Town Hall.

“Like all people,” the council says, “our young residents have important views and perspectives that the Council want to hear and understand, but we know that it’s important to reach young people where they already are to make it as easy as possible to have their say.” These grants will break down barriers between the Council and young residents, opening new channels of communication to make Kensington and Chelsea a fairer place to live for those of all ages.

The council is reaching out to leaders and staff at youth clubs, settings, and organisations to encourage them to apply for a Youth Voice Grant. If you or someone you know works with young people would be interested in finding out more, visit the Youth Voice Grants web page on the Council website.

Applications close on Sunday, 30th June.
